Abstract


This article aims to compare the effect of cold compress and the use of topical anesthetic in order, to minimize the pain of chronic renal patients before the puncture of the arteriovenous fistula. Therefore, this study effectively is a theoretical discussion with the intent to present the best solution for the treatment of pain in the puncture of the AVF. Concluded with the research in scientific articles, the appropriate protocol by nurses in the application of cold compress or the administration of analgesic medication, require a more theoretical basis.
