Implementation of digital technology in the nursing process for people with urinary bladder catheterization in the ICU – Systematized Literature Review

Abstract


In the intensive care environment, patients need a more critical look Abstract: the environment of an intensive care center aims to pay extra attention to the best care. Urinary bladder catheterization is a procedure commonly used by the multidisciplinary team to observe signs and symptoms, nurses must be aware of the most current and best technologies to perform the procedure. Objective: to highlight the best technologies in Nursing intervention “urinary bladder catheterization” (ICNP® code: 10030884), as well as its treatment and therapeutic results in high complexity. Methodology: a systematic review of the literature, carried out with research that dealt with digital health technologies to improve the nursing intervention "urinary bladder catheterization", published between 2014 and 2021 in the VHL and Scielo databases. After reading the title, 56 were selected to read the abstract, with the exclusion criteria and duplicate articles, 36 articles remained for reading in full, after reading and analyzing the inclusion criteria, 10 articles were selected to compose the present study. Conclusion: It is concluded that bladder catheterization is a procedure commonly seen in intensive care patients. And because it is an environment of extreme infection, the care provided must be considered of paramount importance, to reduce the stay related to bladder catheterization, hospital expenses and also reduce the length of stay of these clients.
