Abstract

ABSTRACT: Care for critical patients deserve great demand for professional support and attention, especially when it comes to a patient who is mechanically ventilated making use of enteral nutrition. Given the large number of patients in the ICU are in use VM, evidence describing the importance of training for nurses who are able to provide inherent monitoring of ventilatory parameters and alarms, mobilization, removal care secretions, heating and humidification of inhaled gases, as well as the control of the patient's hemodynamic conditions in order to minimize adverse effects. However, this care is redoubled when the patient is on enteral nutrition, where to watch the execution of the procedure, use of equipment, technical handling not to damage tissues and prevent infections. The completion of a procedure based on the best evidence makes care more patient-centered nursing and contributes to a reduction in complications.
